You have probably tried pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, and/or shrimp fried rice before. None of those dishes compare to the flavors awaiting you in pineapple fried rice. This amazing dish is available at your favorite MD Thai restaurant – Eattini!

Pineapple Fried Rice is a Sweet and Salty Dish

Pineapple fried rice is a new take on an old Thai recipe. Chocolate makers have combined sweet and salty for years using sea salt on caramels and in chocolate. Now, that sweet and salty combination can be had in a delicious entrée that you’ll be raving about.

What’s the Difference, Besides the Pineapple?

Basic fried rice is prepared the same way throughout Asia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Cooked rice is stir fried in a wok or frying pan. The variety comes with the sauces or oils that are added along with the addition of vegetables, meat, egg, or fish. In many areas, this is a homemade dish with ingredients coming from leftovers, meaning there are countless types of fried rice.

Most Americans are familiar with the types of fried rice mentioned above (pork, chicken, and shrimp). Pineapple fried rice is considered a Thai dish, which means it is prepared somewhat differently than other versions of fried rice. Thai fried rice uses jasmine rice, rather than the long grain rice used in other countries. Jasmine rice is primarily grown in Thailand and has a fragrance that is produced by the plant. Jasmine rice is sweeter than long grain rice and can be somewhat sticky. Another difference between Thai and Chinese fried rice is that the Thai version uses fish sauce for flavoring while the Chinese use soy sauce.

Pineapple Fried Rice at an MD Thai Restaurant

Your local MD Thai restaurant has its own recipe for pineapple fried rice. It starts with jasmine rice that is flavored with yellow curry powder. This rice has both chicken and shrimp in addition to egg, tomato, onion, bell pepper, raisins, and, of course, pineapple chunks.

At Eattini, you’ll enjoy fresh, quality ingredients and herbs no matter what you order. This locally owned restaurant uses recipes created and mastered in Thailand. Visit Eattini Thai restaurant for a meal like no other!
